India's first rupee-priced AI coding agent
Htvag Agent is an autonomous AI coding agent built in India and priced in rupees from the start — not a dollar subscription passed through an exchange rate. Checkout runs on UPI and Razorpay, so no international card and no forex markup. The free plan is a complete agent; the top plan is ₹1299 a month flat, against roughly ₹3,000–₹16,000 for the equivalent tier of Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code or ChatGPT.

What changes when the agent is built here
Not a flag on a landing page — six differences you can check on the invoice and in the app.
Priced in rupees, not converted into them
The plans were set for what an Indian developer can actually justify monthly. A ₹1299 flat top tier is not a discounted dollar price — it is the price.
UPI and Razorpay checkout
Pay with UPI, RuPay, a domestic card or net banking. No international card, no 3% forex markup on every renewal, no card declines at 2am.
A free tier that is a real agent
5 credits a day, up to 20 from ads, with the full agent behind it. For students and early-career developers, that is the difference between using an agent and reading about one.
No editor migration
It runs beside VS Code, JetBrains or Neovim on any repository — which matters more here, where a lot of work happens inside a company's mandated toolchain.
Local execution on modest hardware
The heavy reasoning is remote; the file work and builds are local. It does not require a 32GB workstation, and your code never leaves the machine.
Support in your timezone
Built and supported from India, so a support reply does not wait for a US morning.
What a coding agent costs an Indian developer, per year
Annualised at ₹83 to the dollar, before the forex markup an international card adds to every foreign renewal.
| Tool | Per year | Pay with UPI? | Forex markup |
|---|---|---|---|
| Htvag Agent — Free | ₹0 | Not needed | None |
| Htvag Agent — Max | ₹15,588 | Yes | None |
| GitHub Copilot Pro+ | ≈ ₹38,844 | No | ~3% per renewal |
| Cursor Pro+ | ≈ ₹59,760 | No | ~3% per renewal |
| Claude Max | ≈ ₹99,600 | No | ~3% per renewal |
Foreign figures are published list prices converted at ₹83/$1 and exclude GST and card forex charges. Full working on the price comparison page.
AI coding agents in India — questions answered
Is there an Indian AI coding agent?
Yes. Htvag Agent is built in India and is, to our knowledge, the first autonomous coding agent designed around Indian pricing and Indian payment rails from the start rather than converted into rupees afterwards. It bills in rupees through Razorpay including UPI, needs no international card, and has a free tier funded by ads.
Can I pay for an AI coding agent with UPI?
Yes. Checkout runs through Razorpay, which accepts UPI, RuPay, domestic debit and credit cards, net banking and wallets. Most foreign coding tools require an international card that carries a 3% or higher forex markup on every renewal.
How much does an AI coding agent cost in India?
Htvag Agent's free plan is ₹0 and its top plan is ₹1299 per month flat. Foreign alternatives, converted at ₹83 to the dollar, run roughly ₹3,237 (GitHub Copilot Pro+), ₹4,980 (Cursor Pro+), ₹8,300+ (Claude Max), and up to ₹16,600 for heavy ChatGPT use — before forex charges.
Is a foreign coding agent better than an Indian one?
On some axes, yes — Claude Code reasons better on genuinely hard refactors and Cursor's in-editor experience is excellent. What an India-built agent changes is access: a student or a two-person startup that cannot justify ₹5,000 a month gets a full agent for free or for a few hundred rupees, on rails that actually work here.
Do I need a GST number or a business account to subscribe?
No. Individual accounts subscribe with a personal UPI ID or card. Nothing about the signup assumes a registered business.
Does it work well on Indian internet connections?
The agent runs on your machine, so file reads, edits, builds and test runs are all local and unaffected by your connection. Only the instruction and the context needed to answer it cross the network, which is a small fraction of what an editor-in-the-cloud approach sends.
Which platforms does it run on?
Windows 10 and 11, and Linux via AppImage. There is also a browser-based chat that works on any machine, including low-spec laptops and college lab systems.
Built here. Priced for here.
Start on the free plan with an email address, and upgrade with UPI only if it earns it.
